Ways to get your class or choir involved:

Thousands of students across Ontario have discovered the power of music through Opus Alive and Upper Canada Chorus participatory experiences. Designed to ignite a passion for live arts, and to encourage and enrich school curriculum, these events have drawn from the world’s leading performers – Colm Wilkinson, John McDermott, Jodi Benson, Orla Fallon and many others – who have shared their talents to further arts education among youth in our great nation.

Sharing the art of music making in community is an extraordinary experience. Students collaborate with like-minded and passionate youth, and gain the opportunity of working alongside some of the greatest artistic talent in the world.

  • Register your class or choir for an Opus Alive concert experience.

Our concert experiences are uniquely designed to facilitate learning through participation. We blend seamlessly the professional and student communities to create extraordinary performance opportunities. We will provide everything you need, including music books, teacher’s guides and live instructors, to help prepare your students for an unforgettable performance experience.

  • Encourage select students to participate in an Opus Alive concert event.

Sponsored by the Ontario Government, our “Teacher’s Select” program financially supports students selected by teachers across the GTA who participate in Concert Events independently or in small groups. We issue scholarship invitations to teachers approximately 2 months before an event, and students may attend a short rehearsal cycle at any of our 8 Upper Canada Chorus or Opus Regional Choir campuses to prepare for the show.

  • Participate in Integrated Arts and Opus Talk Events throughout the season.

Past guests have included Colm Wilkinson, Jodi Benson (Disney’s voice of the Little Mermaid), Pixar animator and internet sensation Nick Pitera, etc. Integrated Arts days are held at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, and include a full day of multi-discipline instruction in the arts for classes or choirs.
